In this second issue of the ‘Articles from the Archives’ series, www.ReformTheKakistocracy.com presents four previously published articles on climate change. These articles are as current as the day they were written. The series aims to rescue novel discussions of topics that would otherwise be lost in the 402.74 million terabytes of data produced daily.
The first Article from the Achieves is a group of articles on how the two major parties suppress political third parties. The articles also discuss legal remedies to challenge the anticompetitive behavior of the two major parties.” It is one of my favorite topics. This second group of Articles from the Archives addresses climate change, a controversial topic generally argued about by people angrily slinging misinformation and disinformation at anyone with a different opinion.
How society addresses climate change will determine how we exist as a society. The options are simple: government authoritarian control, ignoring it, or, the most promising one, working out rational solutions based on solid scientific data.
The Progressives seek to eliminate capitalism, fossil fuels, many types of appliances, products, materials, and social conveniences that make life easier for the average person. Many on the far right of the political spectrum believe climate change is a hoax. These far-righters do not believe the world is coming to an end, as many Progressives argue. They believe the remedies proposed by the Progressives may be worse than living with the impacts of climate change.
Ignoring climate change, however, is foolish since it could be more serious than changing weather patterns. If society can make workable changes that humans can live with to prevent harm to society, it should do so. Finding that balance requires the federal government to work with high-quality information and scientific data to find cost-efficient solutions that address real, not imaginary, threats to humanity.
The successful solution to addressing climate change is for society to have an open, scientifically supported, rational discussion of its impact so the general public can understand the issue and the consequences of their actions. Government activities to address climate change must rely on scientific information, not political talking points. These discussions are not just for experts or politicians but for all of us. With a well-informed electorate, we can steer the conversation away from political bickering and towards real solutions.
The Articles from the Archives tackle the psychology of the climate change movement, the increasing chatter about imposing personal limits on carbon emissions, how radical change for political purposes can impact society for centuries, and why we all need to be very cautious before granting any government extreme powers to address any issue.
